Wanna Go For a Run?

If any of you read my blog, you know that my New Year's resolution was to run in the Danskin Women's Triathlon this summer in Webster, MA. Well, dumbass me missed the registration. But I just found this race that's taking place on Labor Day Monday, September 3rd. In Boston. I think I must have my big-girl panties on today, because I have already signed up for the 10K run. Care to join me?

By the way, I am soooooo not a runner by nature. But I figure this will certainly keep me motivated throughout the summer to eat healthy (*snort*) and exercise regularly (*chuckle*). Because I can attest that having 3 children in less than 5 years will wreak havoc on one's physique. It's called UGLY NAKED.

Interested? Certainly not in seeing me naked, of course, but in running the race?

yes! yes! yes!

also- Mrs. Big Dubya and I are running in the Susan G Komen 5k on Sept 23rd. I was going to run the Marine Corp Marathon in October but damn. It's not gonna happen right now. 10K? I can do. Another half marathon? Sure. Full marathon? not so much.

I would love to train for a triathalon someday, so let me know if there are some coming up, you know, for slackers.

BTW- you and I are TOTALLY neighbors. I'm up for summer runs if you are ;)

I wish. I'm definitely not a runner though I aspire to be! Good luck to you ladies!

If only I could keep from wetting myself when I run, I may be inclined to train a bit for something. Sigh. Maybe someday.

I can't even walk that far due to my wonky heart, but maybe we can cheer you on. Tell us the particulars of the route and when it is, and it's possible we could hold up a sign and cheer you on.

Well, like I told miz Cape Buffalo, I run like a wounded chicken. So the idea of running that far without the incentive of something chasing me doesn't seem in the cards for me. However, I'm all for routing you on. I'm great at handing off paper cups full of water.

Or, I might be up for walking/jogging it if there's anyone else interested in doing that with me.

I don't even think I'd run if I were being chased. But I'm a good sign-holder and cheerer-on-er.

I could probably come to the Webster one, too. I didn't even know they held a triathalon there. They must bus everyone in because I've lived in Webster and let me tell you, the physiques walking around that town are not of the triathalon variety.

Bike 10K? YES! Walk 10K? YES! Run 10K? I would vomit.

I certainly need to start exercising more though...you may have just motivated me!

Good luck with the race!

I can't commit to Labor Day weekend, but I'll be with you in spirit. My friend and I have been walking/jogging together with the kids in jogging strollers for almost two months now. We're slow and steady, but we're up to 4 miles a day. I'm worried about keeping up the motivation when I move in June and can no longer count on her to keep me in line everyday. We'll live an hour apart, so our daily routine will no longer be an option. As far as virtual motivation goes, I'm here for you :) Good luck with the training!
